Refund from CapitalOne!

I got a letter through the post today from CapitalOne informing me that they had credited my account with £32.14. They'd been charging me for Payment Protection Insurance, which I'd already told them I didn't need. Well chuffed!
One question though - is it worth me calling them tonight and asking that they calculate how much interest has been accrued on these charges and try getting that back too?

They refunded me too, it was because they did not send out details of the policy when the account was opened and therefore refunded me the money I had paid out before i cancelled the PPi!!!!! I was well chuffed too...0

Locana - did you try to claim back the interest on top of the PPI charges too?No longer visiting these forums.0

No I didnt even think about that. Does anyone know if we can???? Let me know if you try tonight please..0

I'd assume so, as CapitalOne have already admitted the fault of charging us for PPI. If interest is added on top of this, it's money we're being charged (and being charged interest on top of THAT interest every month) for something we haven't even asked for!No longer visiting these forums.0

Wouldn't it cost you more in the phone call charge than what you'd get on interest from £32.14, as I am guessing it's not a free call number and that you have to wait on hold for a while too.
Even if the money had been with them for a year you'd only get something like £1.50 before reductions for any taxes you pay. But I am guessing if that £2.14 is for a years charges, it'll be a lot lower interest rate since your payments would have been accumilated each month instead of one yearly payment.0 -
