I have rec'd AIP from Haifax for additional borrowing on my mortgage. They have asked for a copy of our current paysilpis this normal?

Yes - it will be treated as a new application would so credit file/wages will be checked.0

Yes - if lenders do not check your status, they are lending irresponsibly and could be fined by the FSA and also at a future repo hearing the court would not look favourably where Halifax had not bothered checking you could afford it.0

I should have said I wonder why they need to see a payslip when I bank with Halifax & thats where our salaries are paid.0 -
ccclaire- its a lack of "joined up underwriting", some lenders will use the fact that you bank with them and others won't. To be fair though, the payslips will tell them information and confirm stuff that they cannot know from your bank statements.0
