DCAs Calling off Unknown Number

Simple question, I hope!

Are DCAs/creditors allowed to call debtors from with-held/unknown numbers? Is there guidance to say they can't or is that my imagination?

Many thanks!

Its not very good practice really however you are not inclined to speak to anyone anyway, this template should stop them ringing fullstop.

    Hi Climbintheladderoutofdebt,

As BigCraigJohn has pointed out, send the letter attached to the link and that should stop all calls. In the meantime, if they call you, tell them you only wish to be contacted by letter from now on and that you have put this in writing. You may have to use small easy to understand words as some of the debt collection agency staff are so intent on bullying, abusive phone calls that they sometimes fail to understand even the most basic request. If they don't get the message, tell them to take a long walk off a short pier!
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
