Christmas Saving Clubs?

  • I save for the farepak hampers vouchers too, I have done this for years and I get the high street, M & S and Debenhams ones. I used to get the vouchers through an agent but she cocked up my order one year ( farepac sorted it out ) so I ended up ordering them direct from Farepac for myself and my family effectively becoming an agent myself. You can get commission on certain vouchers sold but I dont get commission as we do not hit the minimum threashold. I have had the odd loyalty bonus though so that adds up a little extra towards what I would have earned if I had saved the money in a high interest savings account. There are pros and cons with saving this way. As already pointed out you get out exactly what you pay in so if you had saved the money in a savings account you would earn interest, also you are tied to the shops that the vouchers are for so again if you had the cash you would have more buying power. On the up side if you are anything like me it is a way of saving that I can not dip into :p
I also do the supermarket savings scheme too. The one I do you have to purchase £15.00 worth by April and then save the rest towards the £50 by the end of December so I put the £15 on by the end of April then hold the card till I actually go for my Christmas shopping then purchase the rest of the stamps then and earn a £3.00 bonus.

    All the best

  • I've done vouchers with Park Hampers for the last 12 years. I wouldn't be without them now. I get back in vouchers exactly what I pay in throughout the year. I tried putting the money into a building society but it was sooooo easy to "borrow" the money. I would be full of good intentions to pay it back but never did. It's worth being an agent if you have a circle of like minded friends. My commission pays for my Christmas lunch but I would never order the hampers you are much better off getting what you want from the supermarket. There are always things in the hampers that no-one will eat and it's much cheaper from the supermarket. Good luck whatever you do:)
