If you're not on the deeds, what would happen if you split up in the next 2 years? I thought you could be on the deeds, but not on the mortgage but I don't have a clue about these things - just make sure you get real professional advice.
I think thats possible but I heard the banks dont like it, I'm being optimistic and not expecting me and the OH to split up so soon, dont think either could live without the other
.
And even if we did split up, half of what I would be paying renting would be going into my ISA, so I'd still be better off than renting.0 -
We're in the same boat. My partner is on a temporary contract so can't be on the mortgage and therefore can't be on the Deeds. We've been advised to get a Deed of Trust (?) agreement confirming that he owns half of the house if we split.0

You can be optimistic about your future and still protect yourself - I don't expect to be burgled, but I've still got home insurance. You need some sort of agreement and I really urge you both to get professional advice rather than relying on what you've heard/read/are told on here.0 -

Dont worry we'll be going through a broker and getting all the advice we can, we haven't made any proper decisions and am going to see the bank before we get all excited and go looking at house to see how much budget we have (if any).0
