Tesco Club Card Query - £ off Shopping and Vouchers?

Hi

I used to shop in Sainsburys and could redeem any points credited to my Sainsbury's Nectar Card against my shopping at the Checkout.

Can I do this in Tescos with my Tesco Club Card?

I'm unclear whether the points off vouchers I occasionally get in the post are in lieu of the above or in addition?

Thanks

hi you have to wait for them to send you the vouchers then take them in and redeem them against your shopping- i think you get them sent around 4 times a year- or you can use them towards days out etc clubcard website show you what you can use them for that sort of thing x

    Why?

What did you do with the cash vouchers, you had before from Tesco clubcard, use them or lose them? If the latter Tesco can re-credit them back for the next mailing (going back two years).
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

I'd also ask why? Sainsburys (nectar) points are only half the value of tescos clubcard ones (last time I checked). So you get more money back with tesco, even if you don't take advanatge of one of the 'rewards' programmes and just use the vouchers in store.

The assistant did not hand me back my nectar card once, could not prove she retained it intentionally, but the points were spent within minutes (compared to the time on my receipt, and the fact that the card could not have just beeng rabbed by another customer due to it's location) so a bit suspicious! I got them refunded, but this could not happen with a Tesco Clubcard because the way it is structured, personally I prefer it that way after that little fiasco.

How do you spend Nectar points in store, do you just tell them to take them off your card?

It doesn't seem very safe to me. I lost a nectar card once and they just sent me a new one out with the same number on.

Yes, they just swipe it off.
It used to be that you were only able to do it in "your" shop, ie where you opened it and shopped most often but I think now you can have it taken off anywhere as their system is much more sophisticated.

You can also just swipe it for money off at Argos and Homebase and also at Ask restaurant.

Not convinced about the inconvenience of safety issues outweighing the convenience of spend..

I personally collect both - go to Sainsburys for special offers and special vouchers and to Tesco to do the same:-))
