I owe a small fortune to HFC Marbles, only managed to make minimum payments over the last six months some of them late, went over my credit limit two months ago and have had the panicky, sweating sleepless nights on and off for about a month.
I'm self employed and business this Summer has been slowly trickling away. OH is a diamond and knows I have considerable debt but not specific details.
Whilst my business has been struggling he's taken on the food, petrol, childrens extras and general family spending, he always pays the utilities. We are in the position of having paid our mortgage off.
So after another dire month in August I called the payment difficulty number for Marbles. I've really didn't know what to expect as I'd searched here and the Motley Fool for experiences.
Polite, calm and 'nice' is the only way I can describe her, mind at rest re this months payment, talk of token payments and call us if you can't meet the payment next month. I know I'm paying charges and interest but I have breathing space to get myself properly into gear.
So I'm winding my business down, applied for jobs everywhere, thinking of starting a blog with my big bad SOA and a debt diary, am into OS everything.
Quotes on car insurance this week I can save over £200, and by using Quidco get cashback. Sold £45 on Amazon this week.
It's taken me a while to get into this frame of mind after my first visit here in April ( was beaten down further with broken fridge dishwasher and cooker and car all within 3 months) but like so many others have said turning it into a positive challenge.
So just to say Thanks to everyone (and Martin) for posting their experiences and wise words, I honestly would have dug myself deeper if I hadn't found this board.

Just wanted to wish you all the best Jo. It can't be easy winding down a company that you have put time and money into but for what it's worth I think you are doing the right thing!
Have you posted a SOA before? If not have a look at this thread and we might be able to help you.0 -

Thank you for your kind words.
Summoning strength to call Northern Rock and make a token payment on my loan which has 2 payments left, never missed one or defaulted/bounced in the last 5 years, but know it's going to bring the house down if goes out this month.
Paid £2,000 in PPI aswell but can't get it back because I was in employment when I took the loan out, didn't update details

Really annoyed this morning because I had a clear Debenham Card and in my silliness years ago I got roped into one of those protect all your cards for £70 for 3 years malarkies, didn't cancel it and it's renewed itself on my Debenhams account (29.9% ) can't cancel it cos G.E.Money sent renewal to old address. Got myself a nice little P/T job, fits in with school pick ups and DH shifts. Total change of 'career path', cleaning holiday cottages:D
Was feeling low after not even making the interview stage on one administration job.
