Purple marks on kitchen floor

My kitchen floor is lino that looks exactly like a fashionable wooden floor (you know the sort I mean - it looks like thin strips of light wood)
I've had a couple of Sainsbury's bags on the floor for several weeks (long story - don't ask!) Somehow the recycle logo and some of the text has transferred from the bag to the floor, probably when I had a mini flood and wasn't around to clear it up. I now have purple-ish recycle marks on the floor that I simply can't shift. I've tried the usual cleaning products and bleach but no luck. It's not my flat and my landlord's probably going to pop in soonish. Help!!!

Have you tried rubbing them with a paste made from salt and white vinegar or lemon? It might work.Swagbucks earnings since 22/05/2012 £135 paypal cash

Hell's teeth, I really hope you're wrong Moggins! I'll try the salt/vinegar paste this evening as I've already got the ingredients in the flat. If that doesn't work I'll buy some Astonish and/or Stardrops.
Do you think a very quick dab with a bit of nail varnish remover would help? There's no varnish on the floor so I don't think it would ruin the lino.0 -
Mornin
try leaving some alcohol ontop of the stain with an old towel/rag on top of it. Then put something weighty ontop of the towel and leave for 12 hours.
Hopefully the alcohol will soften the ink stain and the towel will be porous and soak up the ink that comes off.
This worked for me when I dropped brown permanent hair dye on my mother lino kitchen floor. The alcohol I used was an egg cup full of vodka - you could try meths but it can make your kitchen stink.
Good luck xx0 -
Nail varnish remover may well work - its taken all kinds of permanent looking stains off things for me in the past. I tend to use the little impregnated pads so that I'm not accidentally using too much, and they are quite strong so you can scrub fairly ferociously with them.0

Hi there
Dab it Off is a wee clear bottle of stain removal fluid it shifts most things.
I would deffo get Sainsbury to advise or at least provide a free range of cleaners for you to try.

I have been wondering where some small purple marks on my floor have come from. Now I know, they are just where I put the bags down in the kitchen. I don't often use carrier bags when I go shopping but a couple of times recently I have bought more in Sainsburys, because of special offers/reduced items and have had to get one. I hope that you can get them off nawbola and let us know what worked.0

Have you tried Ajax scouring powder? like old fashioned Vim,not expensive about 60p but gets most things off,be careful you don't mark the lino though as it's pretty strong.
Someone mentioned nail varnish remover, beware as this may actually disolve the lino, the ones for false nails may be ok though.
Just another thought, try ASDAthen you could have green marks and make a pattern
