I have just been watching Gmtv, they were saying supermarkets have a long way to go with reducing packaging.
I purchased Tescos cheap foil this week and it came with no box
and was just wrapped in a thin bit of plastic wrapper.
We dont buy ready meals but it has got me thinking....
what other things could the super markets do ?
I would like to see refilling options.
Maybe a "scoop" option where you fill up bio degrable bags with your choice of washing powder or cereal.
or any other ideas

Scoop shops used to be the big thing in the 80's, however I believe a lot of them were closed down due to hygiene issues. Perhaps thats why a lot of places now only do things like pet food in the big bins.
I'm not sure that II'd buy things like cereal if it were loose, I don't even buy pick and mix sweets cos I don't know who has had their hands in it :lipsrseal
Washing powder and stuff like that I probably would buy though.0 -
yes I know what you mean, I would be very particular in what i purchased however not everybody feels the same about these things.
Because I have a son with serious acute allergys Id be worried about cross contamination but for thing like washing powder, flour , sugar, tea leaves, coffee, pasta ect ,Id buy it because if it bakes in an oven or has to be boiled then any germs would be killed.Kindness costs nothing0 -
