"FOR ALL THE EBAYERS WHO WIN AND WOULD LIKE TO COLLECT THERE WILL BE A £5 ADMINISTRATION CHARGE"
Hmm, that's an angle I'd not see tried before:mad:

I've seen cases where the only option was buyer collect and there appeared to be a charge. I wasn't sure if it was real or a mistake, but it certainly put me off bidding.import this0

I was looking for a nest of tables a couple of months back and it was the same, £20 postage or £10 collection charge. Put me off straight away. Cheeky beggers!Laugh Often, Love Much, Live Well.0

I'd collect and play stupid when you go for it. It's a con IMO. Threaten them with a negative feedback, that'll make them drop the £5.0

They're perfectly entitled to charge for collection, and to be honest I don't blame them.I'd collect and play stupid when you go for it. It's a con IMO. Threaten them with a negative feedback, that'll make them drop the £5.
People not turning up, or not with enough money, or just generally weird and disruptive.
I wouldn't do collection, but if I did you can bet I'd charge for it, as it's a very inconvenient way of selling. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

If you look at it this way, the person may have to have a day off work for you to come and collect the item, therefore a days pay lost.
So in some ways that charge is justify-able.

£5 sounds reasonable, as you do have to make sure you're in, and often buyers are late... Plus they might have packaged it already which costs money.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I can't justify it at all! If they don't turn up/with the wrong money, then they don't get the item, just like if you posted it and they didn't pay the right amount.
You make an arrangement for them to come when you know you will be in. No need to take time off work.
I personally would prefer them to collect, saves me the hassle of getting it packaged up and standing for ages in the post office queue0 -
I think it's fully justifiable, I've seen other auctions where it's a warehouse or business lot so you're collecting from a foreman/receptionist so you're using their time.
As long as they say so clearly before you bid where's the problem?0 -

Anyone know where 'SORRY NO COLLECTIONS' is in the UK?0
