I am so fed up. After months of sorting out the paperwork for National Debtline and I dont know how many calls to them for help and several new forms due to my errors making them unclear or illegible I finaly got them and all the info together and posted off only 2 weeks later receivin said forms returned undelivered and damaged (due to 2 sets of forms in one envelope as was told to submit them together to show full picture even though me and hubby making separate applications).
Phoned NDL again to get new set of forms which I completed over weekend and was just about to post them off again in a bigger envelope to NDL when today I get a letter from Tax Credits to say they will be ruducing the amount we have coming in.
This will create an even bigger shortfall for us meaning I will have to tighten our belts a bit more each month from now on, and look around at cheaper deals again to try and reduce what we can (might have to ditch some services like the homephone alltogetherbut keep the landlin for internet) but that causes huge knock on effects and changes to the whole Income and Expenditure budget sheet.
Now what do I do? It has taken months and many a phonecall to NDL and its getting embaracing as I am sure their advisors dont beleive me and are suspicious.
Theres 1 particular adviser I dread speaking with as I feel belittled by their attitude
I am so fed up and dread calling NDL yet again for another set of forms. When I do eventually get them sent off it will only be for evaluation and I am told there is still currently a 7 week wait before it can even be looked at never mind any advice or actual DRO applications.
I am at the end of my patience with it all and just want some help but feel so stupid and ready to go elsewhere to save being ashamed of having to call NDL and ask again for new forms for me and hubby. I cant call and start again afresh cos they have me on file obviously.
Arrrrggghhh I just want to scream am so fed up and at the end of the road
what next!?
Thanks for reading

Crisp, you have been on these forums for awhile and I've seen many of the topics you have posted in frustration over both the actions by creditors but also how you feel about mistakes you have made along the way.
Getting debt free is never an easy ride, and some people have more struggles to go through than other people. Benefit cuts are going to be coming in thick this year and probably repeated next year as the government tries to reduce the amount of debt we incur each year, we are not even coming out of the debt yet!
As others will say on here, sit down, drink a cup of tea/coffee and try to chill out for a bit. Then get on the phone tomorrow to NDL and say your benefits have been cut, many people are going to be ringing in about this right now so you won't be alone. Get the new forms, rebudget and carry on planning for the future.
If your very peeved off, and need to talk to someone in confidence you could give these people a call just to calm down. It will be awkward call to start with, but i'm sure you'll get on well if needed. - http://www.samaritans.org/Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Awww Crisp £ note, if you feel that bad about the advisor why don't you go somewhere else?
I've gone with CCCS and they've been really quick at getting everything sorted. Have you done their debt remedy thingy?
You shouldn't be made to feel bad by an advisor, that's just bonkers.
Hope you can work it out.DMP member no 390

Thank you. Its just the one advisor and I dread them answering my call (especialy when I have often been on hold for a while (I know its a freephone number)) as I wait in anticipation on who will answer. If its the one I fear I hang up and try again a bit later or the day after.
All other advisors I have are realy good, understanding and patient! Failure is only someone elses judgement.

Can i suggest if you have all the paperwork together and all of the numbers ready to go, you could input into CCCS debt remedy online. That would give you an instant idea of what the prognosis is! It might give you a bit of piece of mind whilst you sort things out with NDL
cheers

Thanks.
I wasnt aware CCCS offered Debt Releif Orders.
Plus the problem we have is although me and hubby are married our financial affairs are not. [STRIKE]We[/STRIKE] I learnt a long time ago a valuable lesson of joint accounts and hubbys self employment. Sounds really bad but he looks after his business overheads and van (our only vehicle) and I look afer the household essentials. It's the only way it works for us!
This is why we have to submit separate applications (other than the fact our combined debts are very near the claim limit.) You can imagine hubbys form shows no priority bills or food just his van and a few other outgoings he considers essential plus this matches his income from Self Employment (virtualy none) and his seasonal job. My form shows the priority expenditure and food plus a few other bits which matches the income from IB benefits / tax credits exactly, its tight but somehow we manage.
Will give CCCS another try. Thanks
