Electric toasters - help please.

Very simple really; I am trying to find a 2 slice electric toaster that has slots big enough to take and toast normal slices of UK baked bread.
Problem I have is that almost all toasters on the market now, are built for the European or Asian sized sliced bread which is smaller than UK bread and needs turning in the toaster. Result is often burnt toast!
Anybody?

I would have thought that most toasters sold in the UK would be built to handle standard UK size bread - however, having said that I think you can get medium and thick sliced varieties of bread too, so you might want to consider getting the medium thickness variety if you don't find a suitable sized toaster.
Also have a look at this Toaster Buyers Guide, that might help you make a better choice, and you can check the best price for the popular models on the same page by clicking the relevant compare prices button. According to that toasters guide, a 4-slice toaster might be a better option and some models have variable width settings for different sized bread.Shin: a device for finding furniture in the dark.0 -

Thanks for that; its the height (or length) of a slice that is the problem not width - having also looked around at loads of reviews since my OP, a long 4 slice may be the only way around.0 -

According to the reviews all of these toasters can take large slices of bread.

They might be cheaper elsewhere but I haven't looked.0
