Hi - I have a question regarding Volunteer work & benefits, I have been seeking work for a over a year now & I was sent to a place called Kennedy Scott for the past 2 weeks after finishing a intensive college course, I was informed that I would have to attend this course for another 13 weeks from the 9th August so I signed up for a volunteer job as I was informed that I could still claim JSA & do this work for admin experience for my CV & that a review would take place a month after. I had a review this morning & the advisor was very rude to me & basically said if I didn't sign this form a 13 week work placement that my JSA would be cut there & then. the reason why I don't want to attend the course is it made my agoraphobia start again(haven't felt like that for a few years) & migraines started getting bad also yet the advisor have basically ridiculed me for this & was pretty uncaring.

my question is can I stop claiming the JSA - do my Volunteer work as I want to do this, is it correct that I would have to live on my savings for 13 weeks without any help what so ever, a lady from my local recruitment agency has told me that I can claim a basic living allowence called social secruity or something like that

You can stop claiming JSA at any time if you wish to do so, but you will not receive any payments if you do.

Are you on New Deal? Who found you the volunteering post?
    Gone ... or have I?

Hi I am on new deal but there help has been minimal to say the least, I found the Volunteer work myself & there were all for it when I committed to it then they changed there stance on it, this 13 week next week I have to go there for 2 hours then to my Volunteer job then back there 1 hour & I won't get a lunch break, my adviser said thousands of people don't get lunch breaks so deal with it.
