Hmmmm, could be wrong but I'd say ZERO.
The first line suggests it takes one hen 8 days to lay one egg, therefore 4 days isn't long enough to lay any.
Just a suggestion, could be completely barking up the wrong tree here!2009 Wins = £833

2011 Wins = £7,083
£2,012 in 2012 = £450/£2,012
20 in 2012 = 4/200 -
George's answer is possible, and it's an interesting twist, but I think the inclusion of 'average' in the question makes it unlikely, and I don't think that it means that 800 hens lay one egg each on the eighth day! I think the twist in the question is the repetition of 800 hens/8 days/800 eggs leading you to the (wrong) answer 400 hens/4 days/400 eggs.0

I agree, the question is worded as to the 'average' number of eggs, making 200 right. Of course, if hens have synchronised periods the same way women do then zero would be right
