Using moisturiser as cleanser

Hi, does anyone cleanse or wash their face with moisturising cream? I’ve heard that this is a good for dry skin.

Expensive! (in my case anyway- moistuiriser is where I tend to splurge). I also don't think my face would feel clean, there are no cleaning ingredience in moisturisers, my face may well be soft but my make up would still have residue and bacteria would still exist on my skin. I would probably get spots as a result. Too protective of my skin to try this, good luck!

I've used Astral Moisturing as a make up remover occasionally when I've run out. That is cheap enough!

It isn't something I'd do on a regular basis though.

I use Boots or Ponds cold cream for removing make up and for applying to really dry patches of skin but I believe it can be used as a cleanser too.

I don't own a cleanser. Not bothering with toners either. Maybe my skin is not particularly problem prone now, but had my fair share of spots when I was younger, despite using/trying lots of different cleansers/toners.

Usually I don't wear foundation, just a bit of eye make-up and lippy.

I use vaseline to remove waterproof mascara, works a treat and dead cheap. Wash face with warm water afterwards, then moisturiser overnight. Occasionally, but not every day, I use a mild soap like Dove on my face in the shower, especially in hot weather, rarely in winter.

For full make-up, I'd still use the vaseline (or when travelling any moisturiser I have with me) to remove, followed by warm water.

Used to use alcohol-free babywipes before, were okay too, but vaseline/moisturiser is less drying.

PS There always will be some bacteria on your skin, "sterilising" it upsets the natural balance and can cause problems. Cleaning agents are often fat based, e.g. soap, therefore I think cremes and lotions do clean, too.
