Can i get my money back

Please bare with me as im new to here and dont know if this is the right place to be posting, but here it goes.

Basically, before i met my boyfriend he had a few debts which have now caught up with us, i have sent the letters asking for the cca's and so far so good. however we had already starting paying one of his debts back. We have paid £292 and only had one final payment of £50 left. However we didnt pay this last amount because at the time i wasnt aware of these cca requests. Since then they have now said that the account will be closed. But in the last letter i wrote to them i asked for the money we had already paid back. They havent replied at all so i was wondering if there was some sort of letter i could send to get this money back. I have looked through template letters but none of them really fit our situation.

Does anybody know if there is a letter out there i could use or if i was to write my own how to word it? Many thanks in advance! Nicola

You won't get this money back. The creditor will not voluntarily send it back to you so the only option would be taking them to court where you would need to prove why you sent them money. The only possible answers to that were that you did accept liability for the debt, in which case you would then be responsible for it, or it was a goodwill payment, in which case you would not be entitled to it back.
  • Thanks for your replies, i shall be kissing that money good bye then!
