It is my understanding that the CSA collect child support from all NRP, regardless of their gender.
you're not likely to either!
it's not something they broadcast. but when the vast majority of front line soldiers are female, they have a more, let's say "sympathetic" approach to errant female nrp's.
there's also a massively higher level of non compliance from the female nrps too yet they seem reluctant to unleash the same level of draconian powers they use on the male nrps.
NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.
and, please. only thank when appropriate. not to boost idiots egos.0 -
I take your point markeymark, but on our case my OH was paying, and had proof (as we thought) that he had paid regularly but when the PWC lied and told the CSA he had not paid a thing it was our word against hers and they believed her and we ended up with an arrears bill for thousands which we had to pay for an amount that my OH had already paid. We tried all ways to get the CSA to believe us but it was no use and the PWC was (and is) laughing all the way to the bank as the saying goes.
I'm not saying he shouldn't put money aside for his children, but just don't pay it to the PWC until he is sure of the situation or he may end up paying twice.0 -
13kent, i too was stung with cash in hand maintenance payments and it is shocking the CSA tend to believe everything the PWC, if the OP goes onto CSA website and works out what maintenance will be then either pay that amount with a papertrail or put it itaside, think either of these solutions are adequate0

In answer to your original question - no, they can't backdate it 10 years. If you don't have a case already, your maintenance liability will run from the date that the paperwork is issued to you. If you do already have a case and it is maintenance being paid direct between you, then it is only collectable from the date that the PWC contacts the CSA to ask them to begin collection services.
Stopping payments is all very well, but would this cause hardship for your son. If he's coming to live with you in 11 months, then you don't want him put off by his mum telling him you no longer pay for him so you don't care?0 -
As I understand it your son is 15? If when he turns 16 he comes to live with you and he goes on into higher education then the mother will be liable to pay child maintenance! Worth bearing in mind
