It might be worth putting your own name into www.pipl.com and finding out what is out there about you.

I have done a lot of slouthing for family history purposes and if you have a slightly unusual combination of first, middle and surname and I know your rough age (and you were born after a certain date), I probably find a unique reference to your DOB for about 10 minutes work in the library. I could not trace John Smith but Peter Michael Matthews would probably be traceable.

Since my last post a few minutes ago, the police actually called me back.

I didn't get a crime reference number from them as interestingly, the officer stated that O2 were the victim and not me, so I should tell *them* to contact the police. I guess it was interesting for me since I *feel* like the victim (and I would say that's a natural response considering my identity and details were used) but its O2 that lose out.

Regarding identity theft, the officer also gave me links to two sites that I should register with to prevent future cases:
