Sainsbury's claim that their sausages contain no nasties in them and the meat content is "meat". They are always very nice.0

im a tesco finest fan realy, they usually have some sort of offer, 2 for £3. they are pretty lean too so OH can have them
I had some pretty bad experiences with M&S ones and I vowed never again
I would never buy asda ones after trying them, weird grsitly bits in, put me off sausages for a VERY long time, im talking years
I am VERY fussy when it comes to sausages - can you tell :rotfl::beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I quite like the Sainsbury's "Butcher's Choice" ones - don't think we've tried the "Taste the Difference" ones. The Asda "Extra Special" ones are really boring!
My favourites are not own brand ones - Rook's Kentish sausages on sale in Kent branches of Asda (not much help to those of you who don't live in Kent, of course) and the "Porkinson's Bangers".0 -
I agfee porkinson bangers are very good, but the best are Duchy originals:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Taste the difference are pretty good - we only buy them when they are reduced though (then get two packets to benefit from the 2 for £XX reduction!) We especially like the ones with red wine and fennel
We also like the ones off the butcher counter of our local Savacentre - they are normally 40p each, but we look out for those reduced to0 - usually to 20p then we stock up and freeze.

Are those that have already been recommended basic sausages, or those with lots of added herbs and spices?
Hubby is very picky - at present he'll only eat Richmond Irish Recipe - but there has got to be something out there that's better, but without too strong a taste.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
Asda's "best" sausages are nice but so expensive! Normally only buy if yellow stickered. Have 3 packs in the freezer which were reduced to 30p a pack and make delish toad in hole, or just plain with onion mash...yummy.

I like the normal Tesco ones. Not fatty at all. Their tomato and pork sausages are lovely.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

I've never had any problems with M&S sausages, I get the British Pork Premium sausages which are usually 2 packs of 8 for £3. They have a pork content of 93%.
I stocked up last time as they sent in too many in so the managers sold them to the staff for 30p a pack.
I also like the Sainsburys Butchers Choice Sausages. These are on offer from time to time. The ones in the blue packet cost about £1.59 but they go on BOGOF from time to time or half price. They have a decent meat content too.
I can't buy sausages with a low meat content as at Uni we did a module on meat processing and had to make sausages with a meat content of 50%. It put me off sausages for 2 years.
It wasn't pretty, put it that way.0 -
