Starlight Twinkle Backdrop Curtain

Hello Folks

I've been asked to do the wedding stationery and dress the room for a friend of mine who's getting married soon. Although, I'm used to making wedding stationery on a regular basis and have dressed a few rooms before now, I haven't been asked for one of these curtains before.

I've been googling and they seem rather expensive, I wondered if anyone had used one before and if they had hired or bought one, or perhaps made their own?

I was thinking of buying some white voile from our market and want to pay no more than £1 mtr. I am then going to hem the lengths and thread on a length of the net curtain wires. Ours is to be used at a wall we want to screen, inside, and I plan to also hang lengths of lights also behind the fabric

  • If you are up for it and quite handy you could make a frame from plumbing pipework and then attach the voile to it using stick and stitch velcro, stick the sticky bits to the pipework and sew the sew on part to the viole, just make sure you make the feet wide enough to stabilize it properly, the great thing about the plumbing pipework is you have the joints that you can use, and as for lights there are lots about at the moment, our local homebase B&Q and wilkinsons usually have these on sale by end of the 2nd week of dec! I made a grotto using plumbing stuff and it turned out really well, and stayed up for the duration!
  • i got mine from ebay for £199 incl set up and delivery. let me know if you want details.
