  • Hi Karen,

I'd suggest then getting onto Lloyds re the loan. You can ask them if they've stopped charges or not. Have you had a statement showing any charges recently? Who is your dmp with or did you set it up yourself? If it's PayPlan or similar company, will they know if you're charges have stopped or continue? If they have all correspondence from your creditors itm ay be worth asking?
I've got nothing else but I've got my family.

I'm in the process of setting a dmp up with cccs they have just confirmed direct debit details in the post and said the first payment will come out on the 1st of sep, i'm not sure about charges on the loan should i ring the bank up to find out?

Also should i change my bank from Lloyds? I have another bank account with Halifax would it be wise to have my wage go in that account or once the dmp is set up will Lloyds be ok and not try and take my wage for the loan?
  • Hi Karen, I think the general advice is to move your bank account as LLoyds are entitled to take money from your current account to pay for other debts so it would be a good idea, especially as LLoyds are not the most understanding of creditors.

Someone else will know more than me though!

    Thanks flossieflipflop
  • Yep, Flossie you're right, it is a very good idea to open a new bank account, not linked with ANYONE you owe money to.
Lloyds are TERRIBLE imo and many others. They will offset funds from your account to pay your loan etc if they can. Which they are within their rights to do (why are we not getting this changed, I wonder?!)
