Ah Help! We are going to a friends house tonight for a few hours and getting a take away.
We are having something from the Indian delivered (live in middle of nowhere). My problem is this, I don't like curry or the taste. I love hot chilli things but never had anything bar a Korma and I hated that.
I don't even want to go now, I'll be the only sober one probably, bored out of my head. Might take a few Valium with me just incase!
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thinking of taking a packed lunch with me lol

If you've never had any curry except a Korma (not really a curry IMO) how do you know you wouldn't like one?
Going with the "I love hot chilli things" comment, maybe it was the creaminess of the korma you didn't like? Maybe you'd like a rogan josh or a bhuna. These are more onion and tomatoey rather than creamy, and are more chili-y if you know what I mean. You could always order chicken tikka (not masala). This is chicken marinated in spices and dry fried or grilled, served with salad and some kind of flat bread and usually a pot of chili or curry sauce (varies). Assuming you eat chicken, this should be pretty acceptable.
You could always take this opportunity to have a wee taste of all the curries the other people order - most folk don't have a problem with someone dipping a bit of naan bread in (just ask first).
It's only a game

Agree with above, go with the chicken tikka. My local does a chiken tikka masala and its very sweet with coconut. The chicken tikka is totally different.
Chicken tikka kebab will be nice also, along with corriander and garlic naan bread or chips.
Not a big lover of their rice, myself.0 -
Thanks everyone. I have tried bits and bobs of Indian food and never liked it, I love trying new things and would love to like it.
Wish me luck lol0 -
victoria, you could go into a local takaway and ask for small tubs of certain sauces to try out. They might charge you £2 a tub, but at least you'll know what full meal to order.0

a korma is an ok dish but i rarely have it. Try some other ones which arent creamy and contain lots of tomato, onion and spices.
indian food is very diverse, more than our food. Try a few different dishes and report back0
