Still not paying back my student loan
Hey MSE'ers!
I have a question and im not sure if this is the right place to ask. Ive looked all over the internet but with no luck so far.
I graduated in 2008 and have a job that pays me well over the minimum threshhold for paying back student loans. According to what all the sites and documents say, i should have started paying it back in april 2009.
It is now July 2010 and i still havent made a single payment. Is it my responsibily to get onto the student loans company or my employer and get them to set up the payments out of my wages?
I dont want them to present me with a bill for 2 years unpaid payment all at once!!
Cheers all!
James

surely common sense should prevail here, if your aware you have to pay it back then make enquiries to do such. i cant see why it would be your employers duty to do it, did they take the loan out for you?
you should have started paying it back in april yet you wait for over a year and have still not made reasonable enquiries? i'm sure all this info would be available to you at the time of borrowing.0 -
If you don't contact them - they will catch up with you eventually.0
