Old Abbey National Retirement Investment Account

Hi All,

Just after a little advice please......

I have an old ANRIA account which I took out many years ago. There is only about 1.5k in it, but Im led to believe it is now frozen and I cannot do anything with the account. My local branch said the account is still open but I cant do anything with it until I retire (which is a while away yet!!)!!!

Is there no way I can close this old duffer of an account and transfer the money into some other pension/ISA account?

Many thanks for your help!

Frozen is a term that applies to defined benefit schemes. It is more likely to be paid up.

it is unlikely to be an account. More likely a retirement annuity contract (if pre July 88) or a personal pension of post 88.

you should be able to transfer it into another pension.
