Hi,
An wanting some advice regarding a dent with Telewest/Virgin media that is more than 8 years old. My son ran up a debt with telewest when we had the tv and internet service in our house, the debt i think is about £500, but i was wondering is that since this debt is years old, is it still valid for them to pursue this matter becayse we were enquiring about virgin broadband and and i was advised that we were not going to be allowed the service becuase the debt was still shown on our account. But would the debt not be invalid by now and we should still be able to get this service?

The debt might not be legally enforceable but there's nothing to say they have to provide a service to a household that didn't pay for the same service before.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0

Since the debt is over 6 years old then they will not be able to chase it or take you to court.
However they are a business and therefore are well within their rights to refuse to sell to you when their past history with you has been that you have run up debts with them and then refused to pay. I'm sure any business would act in the same way.0
