ID Theft - Being chased by Fredrickson International

Well I'm going to write the letter you suggested today.
I had another thought - are this debt agency able to put this account on my credit report again? I'd be v worried if this could be the case - as to me the matter was closed in 2009 when I reported the crime & wrote to the creditor, etc. I dont want to go thorugh the hassle of having another entry on my credit report again.
Also can the company blacklist my address, even though they are acting illegally (I'd presume by pursuing me when it has been proven the debt is not mine)??
Thanks

Hi SG! There's no blacklist against a property so you've no worries there!
Have you checked your credit report recently? IF the debt gets put on there you can fight it. Start by complaining to the DCA, and if that doesn't work then the ICO.
Sorry to hear about this trouble! Hope it clears up soon!
CLODI've got nothing else but I've got my family.
Mum to Moo age 6, Wills aged 3. 2nd wedding anniversary 11/13! :j0 -
Hi, climbing the ladder - no my credit report is still clear - just worried as we're going on holiday soon, and dont want it to re-appear while i'm away & have no access to internet. I've sent the letter recorded delivery to Fredrickson today - this time worded a bit more strongly!
I'll post on here if I do hear back from Fredrickson again - though hopefully not.
Could this go on forever - i.e can Fredrickson sell this 'debt' off to another debt collection agency, and hound me again, even though i'm innocent?
Thanks for all the advice / help on here - I really appreciate it & feel happier today.0 -
No news yet, but I guess it's still early days....
Could this incident have affected my Credit Score? I have a credit score on experian (not sure how accurate this is?) and it is very low (I was shocked how poor it was!) I wonder if the notice of correction on my report might be partly responsible for this? I have a good history of credit - loan, credit card etc all paid in full, no late payments. Not been overdraw for 10 yrs, etc?0 -
Result! Got a letter last week to say they were no longer going to pursue the matter, but were going to hand it back to the creditor. So it looks like it is sorted for the time being........whether i'll hear again from a different debt company is another matter.
Thanks again for all the help on here. For now at least I can relax a bit!
