Yes, I have. The fruit and veg is very good and tastes great. We use to have a box delivered every week but didn't eat half the stuff so became a waste so we stopped. We now get a box every two weeks and it's great. The veg and fruit is seasonal so may be some things you do not eat.'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'
Proud Mummy to two gorgeous miracles.:j0 -

thouht i would give these veg boxes a go a while ago and have been hesitating until i saw this offer. now i have a salad box due to turn up on saturday. generally their prices look fair, i ran the cotents through mysupermarket.com and got a higher basket total at all four supermarkets. this does not allow for yellow sticker purchasing though but i do get fed up of lugging home heavy fruit and veg on the bus. thanks op.Wins: 2008: £606.10 2009: £806.24 2010: £713.47 2011: 328.320

Well mine arrived and it contained:
A bag of mixed salad
A small bag of potatoes
A bunch of carrots
2 x courgettes
1 x cucumber
A small box of cherry tomatoes
A bag of Chard
So at less than £5 that worked out well but I think I would be a little disappointed if I had paid the full £9.95..
I used to get a box delivered with a different company and it was much better value. Convenient but not really a saving for me I don't think.0 -
I get a veg box ( not from Riverford as they are not in my area) and I love the suprise of seeing what is in the box but as Mrs E has found out you have to have a clear idea of what you like and don't like.
I work with my supplier and advise what I don't want..ie never have spuds as get them locally
I love trying the new things and having to use my brain to make a dinner around the veg and for us it works out about the same price as store bought as it comes to us and lasts a whole week for under a tenner. I have also found the veggies tend to stay fresher then store bought ones as well which helps.
Although I can't use this offer I was going to say that if people used it to try the first time could they not then get the box made as they like it after that ?
I am sure Riverford would offer that.
Added because of the above..It does seem that they are more expensive then most, certainly more then the scheme I use.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

Riverford don't customise boxes. I like that because it makes me try new things.
When comparing prices remember it's all organic. Riverford are cheaper than the other organic vegboxes in my area, I looked at them all.0
