Is Student Finance Direct's Student Loan same as SLC Loan?
Is Student Finance Direct's Student Loan same as SLC Loan?
I was just reading the article 'Should I pay off my student loan?', and noticed the bit saying:
"This is only about the official government issued Student Loan Company (SLC) loans taken out while at Uni or college; not any form of personal loan, Career Development Loan, professional studies loan, or loan for students from your bank."
My student loan came through Student Finance Direct, I'm not sure how I came accross this company. It does say in their general information that:
"Student Finance Direct is a partnership between LEAs and Student Loans Company (SLC) for delivering financial support to students on behalf of the Department for Education and Skills (DfES)."
I just want to know whether the information that Martin provided in his article applies to my loan, and what the difference between my loan and a SLC loan is?
Thanks for any help

I think the SLC loan is the same as the Student Finance Direct, I just think they have done a bit of renaming recently.
Although, I may be wrong .... I am sure someone who knows for definite will be along soon.
