Thanks! One I got from the Book People (in the office, rather than online) was Darina Allen's "Forgotten Skills of Cookery"

I was going to recommend this as the ideal OS book - it has tips on growing food, keeping hens, foraging as well as recipes - in other words, a real OS manual - but unfortunately it's sold out! And is nearly twice the price on Amazon..

Now I'm kicking myself that I didn't get more, as they'd have made great pressies...
