Natwest Student Loan - Going into third year.

I have maxed out my loan of £1400 and need to increase it to £1600 before I go into my final and third year at university.

But I don't know if I can do this yet as I start University at the end of Septemper.

Could I just ring them up and say that I will be going into my final year at the start of September, and explain my situation - that I need this increase to pay for house rent at university.

I really need this increase before september or the VERY start of september.

  • Are you by any chance doing a masters/4 year course? If so, they can increase your overdraft to £2000 if you provide a letter or proof from your university.

That's what they did for me, anyway. I suppose another alternative could be to apply for an interest free credit card and do a cash transfer?
  • The credit card sounds like a good idea, but it would be ideal if they would increase my loan. I really just need this 200 to pay off one month of rent.
So when my student loan comes in mid september I will be able to completely pay off my entire overdraft.

You can't apply for an increase until 1st September, and there are no exceptions I'm afraid.

Do mean Natwest Student Overdraft as opposed to loan?
Last year i needed to increase mine and did so in August up to the limit of £2000 which was the total I would be allowed.
