Catholic Church Wedding Costs?

Hiya,

Just wondering if anyone knew whether catholic churches cost anything in fees to get married in or whether it was donation?

My fiance is catholic, and i am of no religion although i do regularly attend mass with him.

one of you must be catholic, at least 6 months notice.

can't find anything about fees at the moment- it just says Your priest will advise you about about the cost of fees for the church

Yes, i was thinking that as well.

We have both been to meet the priest already, who has agreed to marry us at the church provided we both attend a marriage course in january.

We didnt ask about costs at that point, really should have! So i thought maybe someone would have some info on what they paid in fees or donation

I'll just give the church a call this afternoon but thank you so much for helpx

We were married in a Catholic Church as I'm Catholic, it used to be that there wasn't a charge as such, you made a donation, don't know if it has changed, then we just paid the organist and bought the Priest a bottle of Whisky as well as the donation, and our Priest also said we didn't need a rehearsal as this is just a way for people to have to pay more.

Thanks for your help, im not sure whether it is C of E churches that have fee's as such and catholic churches are more donation based. will need to call to find out

C of E do yes - in reagion of £250, organist, bells, choir all additional charges x

But if you're getting married at Catholic church dont you have to pay to give notice, same as a registry office?
