The new Currys mega store opened this morning on the race course retail park at Aintree Liverpool. It is selling Snooper saphire S270 Plus EU version (european mapping) Satnav/Speed camera for just under £55.

The SEL states £199 but this is reduced as an opening offer. The snooper website is around £180/£190. Make sure it is EU version not the GB/ROI.

I have just bought one and it worked fine to get me home. It is the size of a smallish mobile phone with an awful tinny tiny speaker. The display while small is good.

Overall for £55 I am well pleased and there are still quite a few in stock. They are in the sat nav aisle and they are also in a big round bin just as you enter the shop.

If you want one be quick. I cannot see this offer on the web.

Couple of questions before hubby hurtles off for one for his EU bike trip.
Do you know if the EU maps include speed cams
is there a need to subscribe for the updates to the speed cams
Does it have a earpiece socket
sockets for external power source?
exact size of screen

I don't know about EU speed cams but i am sure that it is illegal to use camera detectors in some EU countries.
Updates cost £2.99 per month. £7.99 per quarter or £29.99 per year. There is a headphone ear piece socket. looks to be standard 3.5 mm
Comes with a mini USB to ciggie lighter for car use and a mini to normal USB to connect to computer plus windsceen mount.

...and just rung all gone...went early this morning they said

At 13.00 they had lots my reciept dtimed at 12.41 and then i hung around looking at the TVs and when I left at about 13.00 they had a bin full.

Okay...a bin full, no price showing and £149 on the demo aisle, but discounted at till to £54.99..and never seen so many TV's stacked up for sale in my life!!

I am glad that you got one pepper but have you got the right one?

The £149 is the GB/ROI and I don't know what the final price for that is.

The £199 is the EU version. The EU version is £50 more expensive. If you have not got the EU then take it back and insist on the EU one. Mine is the EU one @ £54.99
