How to calculate inflation rate between 2 dates

-
Thanks Generali, you're a star,
So CPI = 114.6 - 109.5 = 5.1.
CPI = 5.1/109.5 x 100 = 4.66%
RPI = 5.26%
CPI = 4.66%
Cheers everybody.
Correct.
Neither will be your rate of inflation, most likely at least, they are just different averages.
There are very good reasons to use CPI rather than RPI to measure inflation BTW as CPI tries to capture the change in spending caused by changes in relative prices where RPI does not.
RPI is generally better though overall as it captures housing costs more completely.0 -
Took me a little while to get it. Where's the face palm smiley?
My son snaffled from Grandma's fridge a 250g bag of dates aged about 1 year and ate pretty much all of them. I was on nappy duty.
I bet you needed lightning reflexes that day.:eek:
I was hoping someone would get it, there are not many pictures of just two dates.:)0
