Wedding insurance

Hi all. I thought it was about time I got the wedding insurance sorted now that we have booked the church and the venue. H2b thinks insurance is a waste of money but I am a bit more of a worrier than he is. Anyway, just wanted to see if there were any recommendations as there seems to be so many different companies to choose from. I know nothing about any of the companies and whether they
are likely to pay out or not so any advice most appreciated.

Thanks xxx

A couple of years ago i would probably have been in your husbands camp on this one, but the way the world is at the moment, with companies going out of business that looked sound, i would definately get insurance. Imagine how upset you'd be if your photographer went bust last minute and it was going to cost double the price to get another one to do it.

Ive taken mine out with ecclesiastical, purely because they have paid out in the past for events which other insurers didnt. You can also build your own insurance requirements, for example, you might need £5k overall cover, but not need anything for flowers or rings or something, so you can adjust the policy to fit what you need.

  • Peace of mind is worth so much more than the £40 you will save by not buying the insurance!

Yes, for the £40 or whatever it is, it's certainly worth it for the peace of mind.
