Moorcroft Debt Recovery Help Please!

Options
Hi, I have been getting bothered from these scumbags as I lost my job and stopped paying for my credit card with Halifax and my Internet with 3. My credit card has £4000 on it, ive read on another thread that they would agree to a settlement figure of as little as 10%, is this true? And I have also read that if you ask for proof that the debt is now their's and they cant do that, that you dont have to pay them anything?? As you can quess im quite naive and would just like some help/advice.

Cheers.

Great, thank you. If there is anyone else with past experience of this company i'd still very much like to hear it.

    Alan I have ,

Don't contact them until you have some sound legal advice from my link.

If you call them, by making the call you are accepting liability .

They are an evil company , and will bend every rule they can to force you to pay . Trust me .:)

    Good Luck .

My bitterest adversary... I was in debt trouble years back and I am in debt trouble again now, Moorcroft have been utter shtt's, do pardon my language. I hate them with a passion only otherwise reserved for GATSO's and ironing... How can I possibly be of assistance friend?

I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

Hello Hannah, I was just reading your story about your Orange account with them when you replied and sent me the link, spooky! I have a Credit Card with just over £4000, and ive been informed by a friend, and also after reading someone else's post on another thread, that I can get them to agree to a very low settlement figure, I spoke to some woman from there today and to say she was rude and unhelpful would be an understatment. So, do you have any advice on how I can get a low settlement fee?

I spoke to them today and made a payment of £30, I had already paid them a couple of month back because like I say, I am very naive with all this debt stuff, and I made a token payment.

Ok well as to what they'll accept in a F&F (full and final offer) a lot depends on how old the debt is, how long you repayed it for, how long they haven't had payment before you gave them that £30, who owns it now and how it originally arose?

Also, I'd like to know if they've done anything naughty, like pestering you at work, or upping the amount any?

Ive had the CC a few year now but Moorcroft have only had it a few month i'd say, and I think I have made 3 or 4 payments to them. They have sent me numerous letters and phone calls, at all times of the day. Today I made up the excuse i'd been away for a couple of weeks, thats why I hadnt responded to their last letter and they started saying well if you can afford a holiday you should be able to pay us! Utter cheek.
