CSA and redundancy payments, can they take some?

Partner is currently paying the CSA through an attachment of earnings order but he is due to be made redundant in Nov. Currently they take say £600 per month for payment plus arrears. Now if he doesnt earn enough to make this full payment for the next few months ( he has x amount protected earning that the company have to leave him with to live on) the the company has to carry it over to the folowing months payment. Since being stung bythe CSA he's stopped doing overtime. Like i said he's being made redundant and is expected to receive a lump sum, (more than statutory redundancy pay) can they take the shortfall of payments froom this or is this protected??

Also another quick question, if the mother (pwc) is on benefits either JSA or IS are they supposed to notify the benefits agency? Will their benefits be affected?
