Curves Gyms

I am thinking of joining a local Curves gym and just wondering if anyone had any experiences of them - good or bad?

Thanks

    Hi there
I was a member of Curves for about a year and I would suggest you have a look at how the staff operate before you join. In my club the staff were very friendly but didn't push, encourage or supervise anyone to work their way round the course. This meant that lots of people were doing the minimum amount of work but still kidding themselves that they had been excercising! I have a fitness background so I know that lots of people were not using the machines or the rest boards correctly so obviously they were paying money for nothing.
If I was you I would ask lots more questions and go along to observe a few sessions before you commit. As this company are franchised I'm sure there will be some great clubs out there, just make sure the one you join is one of them
  • Brilliant - thanks for your advice. I'm not exactly gym savvy or the most motivated when it comes to exercise :rotfl:so that's exactly what I need. Will make sure to ask loads of questions and see how they operate. Thanks

I am a member of curves and I find it really good. The staff are always checking on how you are doing, encouraging you to do more repetitions on each circuit. They also check if you are using the equipment properly and will come over to you to correct what you are doing if you are not using it properly.

As they are franchised though you might find some variation. You can pop along to find out more without obligation so go in and see if you like what you see.
