Shoulder cover up

Hi ladies,
I'm hiring my wedding dress - a traditional strapless style without the modesty panel in the back (so open lace back), but in olive green. It's made of taffeta, and is that shiny two-tone type fabric. It comes with a stole the same colour and material, and as my wedding is in October, I think I'm going to need one!!!
Trouble is, the colour is extremely difficult to match, and it really doesn't go with many other colours - we've gone for brown for my fiance's cravat because nothing else matches! My bridesmaids are in white with black flowers, and their dresses are cotton so the white is very white - not shiny.
They will also need something for their shoulders, as their dresses are also strapless. The lady in the hire shop has said that I can have two of the stoles that match my dress, and then my bridesmaids can have them, which looks gorgeous, but she was a bit unsure about what i could do for me.
I am really struggling to find anything!!!! I think it either needs to be white to match the bridesmaids, or brown to match the cravat but the cravat is also being hired so i don't have the fabric to match. I can make the stole if I could find the right material, but I just don't think cotton would look right with my dress, and if I go for something else then it won't match the bridesmaids!
Any thoughts?
This is my dress (it looks a lot yellower in this pic than it is, camera phone flash!)

and these are the bridesmaids dresses:

Any ideas gratefully received!!!!!

What about gold stole? Would that go ok? http://www.debenhams.com/women/accessories#ps=default&storeId=10001&sfn=Colour&lid=%2F%2Fproductsuniverse%2Fen_GB%2Fproduct_online%3DY%2Fcategories%3C%7Bproductsuniverse_18661%7D%2Fcategories%3C%7Bproductsuniverse_18661_128622%7D%2Fcategories%3C%7Bproductsuniverse_18661_128622_17787%7D%2Fcolour_group%3E%7Bgold%7D&catalogId=10001&sfv=gold0

that's a good point, gold is a possibility... the beading on the dress is partly gold and I have ruled out silver jewellery because it doesn't look right with the gold in the beading...
only trouble is, i really don't like the colour gold :rotfl:
but thankyou, it's a colour i hadn't thought of, and you're right that it would probably be ok!
do you think i'm starting to have a few too many colours though? green, gold, brown, black and white? i feel like i want to keep it simple... but should have thought of that before i went for a green wedding dress :mad:0 -
What about brown? Where did you get fiances cravat from, do they have a site? Just trying to find the shrug I got my BM to give you an example.
I don't think it';s too many colours, it's not like you're wearing them all is it? BMs will all be wearing the same thing and you're wearing something striking to be different and stand out from them.0 -

Another point is that would you be wearing it all day? I have a white shrug to cover my arms but would probably be wearing it in the car and for one or two outside pics, we get married in November I don't want to keep the shrug on to take away anything from the dress.
That's what I have bought my BM, it looks well her dress is the same colour as the shrug0 -
what about a white fur stole?0

Can't help with a cover up, but just had to say, I think your dress is amazing!! I LOVE the colour! xTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

maybe you could pick up on the black in the BM dresses and go for a black taffeta stole?? I think white would look nice though - you don't really have to match the fabric exactly? I like the fur stole idea too - lovely for a wedding in the cooler months and very glam!
Where did you get your dress from? If it was made, could you see if they would sell you a metre or so of the same fabric and use that for the stole, then you don't have to worry about matching anybody else's fabric

Cream would go lovely with Olive Green

Then get black ones for the Bm's so they 'gell' with their dresses

i was gonna suggest gold or a cream with a gold shimmer. xProud to be Member of BSC #92Hoping to get debt free again :wall::heart2: working hard to make my daughters proud :heart2:0

perhaps i am being a total bridezilla (i am certain i am!!!) but i am really funny about having cream or ivory as there is nothing else cream or ivory at our wedding!!! the flowers are white, his shirt is white, the bridesmaids dresses are white... i hate the look of white and cream. i know that's ridiculous, but when i look at it in wedding brochures and there's a man in a cream waistcoat next to white flowergirls/bride, i think it looks ridiculous.
i quite like the idea of a gold shimmer though... and some of the gold stoles on the debenhams site are lovely. i am just being ridiculous i think, so worried that the colours aren't going to be right!
i think the real reason is because although i am absolutely 100% certain about my dress, and i don't actually care what people think, i am aware that our wedding is going to be a bit of a shock to some of the guests and that they will not approve! As a result i think i am funnelling all my energy into pretending that the colours are really important
bridal fog lifted...
golden stole will be purchased
thanks for your help!
