very few people borrow money with the intention of not paying it back , If they do most are caught when they apply, the banks, cra, fraud agencies ( eg, national hunter) weed out the iffy applications before they are granted ,This forum is a mutual help and support platform for anyone who has got into trouble and are suffering at the hands of the most obnoxious , uncaring, barely legal, corrupt , companies since the gangs who ran the east end of london in the 1960,s You seem on the other hand to be a supporter of ( i have lost my job iam now on beneffits I DONT CARE PAY ME ) ( I have been diagnosed as having cancer , I DONT CARE PAY ME ) ( My house burned down my wife and kids are all in hospital ) I DONT CARE PAY ME ) What do you do for a day job. i think i know, dont bother to tell me.Alternatively how about I don't borrow that 100k in the first place if I have no intention of paying it back

In yesteryears before the countries moral compass went astray a mans handshake was considered his bond .This could be part of the script read by a DCA to a clued up MSE poster after telling a DCA to p£ss up another tree , my debt is statute barred. Time we told it like it is.I fail to see the relevance in this paragraph, the OP has not stated that her boyfriend was stitched up, she has clearly stated that he borrowed the money and then just didn't bother repaying it. She further states that he has a number of CCJs due to not repaying monies he has borrowed.
I do not see the 'evil hand' of the grasping banks is this scenario, purely that of an individual who has taken every penny he can get from the financial system without considering his ability to meet his committments and is now aggrieved because they are pursuing him for his debts.
As I have said before I am all in favour of recovering PPI and other dodgy insurance deals which were pressed on people, I also have slight concerns regarding excessive bank charges (although they were clearly provided in peoples banking contracts), however if you borrow money you should endeavour to pay it back.
In yesteryears before the countries moral compass went astray a mans handshake was considered his bond. From what I have read on many of these threads if I were to shake hands with some of the posters, I would be counting my fingers afterwards. The amount of dedication shown to debt avoidance as opposed to debt repayment is absolutely amazing

Its hard to take someone seriously when they are so OTT.
If someone has problems paying their debts then they clearly need help, however I remain of the view that there are a vast number of posters on these boards who can afford to pay, but have decided to jump on the bandwagon of pursuing the non enforceable route.
If you loaned your friend 10,000 pounds and then he refused to pay, despite having the money to do so, on the basis that he hadn't signed on the right line, you would be crying like a baby and taking him to court.
This is essence what the financial organisations are doing, pursuing money that was lent to them. Failing that they can just write off every debt where the individual doesn't want to continue making payments and we can watch interest rates rise even higher to compensate for risk factors.0 -
The vast number of posters on these boards have been hounded , intimidated , threatened , bullied, by companies chasing debts made up of unfair charges, the interest rates rising is pure unadulterated greed , if anyone takes you seriously then they clearly need help. im glad you keep posting it gives anyone new to the forum a quick lesson on TROLL baiting. Its hard to take someone seriously when they are so OTT.

How can it be right when people have informed the creditors that they are having problems, those companies then carry on adding interest and late payments onto the account? Surely it's in everyone's interest to come to a mutual agreement, how best to pay the debt back. But what seems to be happening is that people are getting harassed and hounded!!! No wonder they will look for any way out, I don't blame them!!! Of course, like benefit fraud and tax dodging, there will always be the odd bod who tries to "get away with it", but I think the majority of people on here genuinely want help and are at the end of their tether!! The financial industry was quick enough to throw money at people, it's just a shame they are not as quick to help them!!:mad:0

I agree Marisco , its the endless charges , and interest accruing , i mean , if someone is in dire straits , whats the point in punishing them again , and again , and again and again etc etc etc , why not stick to what they DO owe once they get in touch to say help me ! , then i think , the animosity towards the banks maybe , wouldnt be as severe...0

Ah the last resort of the feeble minded on Martins Money Tips, 'I disagree with your views ergo you must be a troll' - it would be laughable if it wasn't so childish.
I do not dispute that the banks and companies are in many cases wrong, and that the charges have been excessive, but your absolute refusal to consider the fact that in a fair number of cases the customer must bear a fair share percentage of the blame is evidence of a closed mind which is not worth the effort of sparring with.
Even attempting a debate with you is like trying to teach mathematics to a 5 year old child while the ice cream van is outside, totally pointless and a waste of time. I leave you to your bitterness and your statute barred debts in the hope that one day you will learn the merits of taking responsibility for your own actions.0 -
A feeble closed mind , not worth the effort of sparring with , I have a picture of you in some Orwellian office at the Ministry of truth rewriting the OFT guidelines to suit your masters , unfair to ask a debtor;..................; ignore that bit it wont apply to us, how about the banks taking responsibillity for almost bankrupting the world economy then giving ,us , our children , and probably our grandchildren the monumental task of paying for their gross negligence , greed to the point of making my open mind swim with disbelief , no the only absolute in the universe is energy equals mass times the speed of light squared , that was untill today , absolute no two , I will fight in whatever way i can against people like you who would condem the victims of corrupt financial organisations to a life of poverty forever paying for a mistake , by the way this 5 year old understands a little maths , absolute means TRUTH , something you dont find in the murky world you seem to inhabit.Ah the last resort of the feeble minded on Martins Money Tips, 'I disagree with your views ergo you must be a troll' - it would be laughable if it wasn't so childish.

, how about the banks taking responsibillity for almost bankrupting the world economy then giving .
Having failed to take responsibility for your own debts you now cast aspersions on the banks for their lack of responsibility. The hypocrisy of it beggars belief.
I shouldn't really bother replying but you are almost a perfect social study of a society where the blame must always sit elsewhere, thereby absolving individuals of personal responsibility.
I tripped over a paving stone, its the councils fault. I got sunburn, its the doctors fault for not recommending I use suntan oil. I scalded my tongue on a cup of tea in Mcdonalds, they should have told me it was hot.
I can envisage you sat in front of the TV watching endless 'injury lawyers for you' advertisements, whilst considering suing DFS because they never warned you that being a couch potato could hurt your back :rotfl:0 -

Who was responsible for giving mortgages to poor people knowing full well they could not pay , who was responsible for dressing up and renaming these ( toxic debts ) financial products then hawking them around the world , who was responsible for greedily buying as many as they could , who was responsible when it all went inevitably wrong , who was responsible when the government used our money to save them from collspse , who is responsible for all of this THE BANKS , Who will take responsibillity for the hike in interest rates , who will take responsibillity for the outrageous bank charges , individuals should be held responsible for this , they should be prosecuted for in my opinion it was all a fraud , hypocracy , you do not know the meaning of the word. As the saying goes ,You can fool some of the people some of the time , But you cant fool all of the people all of the time , Where has all this wealth gone , it will reapear sometime in the future , involved in another scam , under another get rich quick financial product , they will have learned nothing and neither will you .GRADUATED FIRST CLASS WITH HONORS FROM THE SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS RECOMENDED READ IF BY RUDYARD KIPLING0
