Second job

Finally, after applying for approaching 50 jobs in the last couple of months I have finally managed to get myself a nice and reliable part time job to fit around my day job - 16 hours a week 4x4 hour shifts in a newsagents.

After not hearing back or turned down in some cases by big named companies and even bar work jobs I was beginning to loose hope and was really considering moving home to my parents but now this is the bit of good news that I needed.

My message is to those who are out there and may have been in same position as myself: Don't give up, keep on applying and eventually you will get something which will help you become debt free. It might be very doom and gloom at the moment but I have managed it and I'm sure you can too. Don't let not hearing back or being told no, get you down.

All the best to those struggling at the moment.

    Well done.

I worked in pubs for many many years and then about 12 years ago a friend of mine who worked for local estate agent got me a job there for weekends - and I love it. At lot less tiring than barwork. It is probably not a field that many people look in to but it is general office admin and showing prospective buyers round houses, most agents (sales and lettings) employ part time staff so is always worth a try - you do normally need to have a car.

Hey congrats:T I know from experience how demoralising it is when firms don't even bother replying - even if it's only to tell you you haven't made the short list:mad: Maybe they should pass a law, that all prospective job hunters deserve the courtesy of a reply!;)
