Options
Superdrug have got vouchers instore to save £2 off the Gillette Fusion razor (both types). Also - you get a free Gillette Gel to go with it...

Doesnt mention Superdrug on their photocopied vouchers so may be able to use in Tesco. Valid until 14/10/2006 - not sure how long in Superdrug though! :)

No - I think they just do it at the till without a voucher as they have one on them. But good to pick up the vouchers for use at Tesco ;)

  • The devil in me is telling me to buy one of these because of all the media pressure and pushiness. The Moneysaving angel inside me says 'don't do it'!

Anyone wanna convince me? At the mo I use a razor from Lidl which cost me £1.79 and comes with 20 blades. Works fine for me!

The blades are a ludicrous price, Comicmankev - I think circa £6 or 7.99
    for 5!!!
As you say Fusion has been launched with a massive marketing & media campaign. The shops are full of FSDU's crammed full of them - my impression is they may not have sold quite as many as they expected (a bit price prohibitive, methinks!). I reckon the market could soon be flooded with them - via shops discounting (like Superdrug) to get shot of them, Ebay etc. etc. You'll soon be able to pick up the razors for a couple of quid, I would imagine. Problem is blades will probably still be extortionate - that's how they make the money. Think of how many £ millions they must have spent on the marketing campaign - it was huge - have to get it back somehow!
I'd stick with the Lidl one, personally.

I was tempted too.. but it only comes with 2 blades - i.e 4 weeks of shaving. To replace the blades cost approx £1 each... these arent cheap! They are cool looking though!

Havent bothered - stuck with my Quatro which has cheaper blades and does the job! Ask yourself if your current razor does the job and if not then maybe get one. Can always put the cheaper blades on later... kinda defeats the object though!

I have just switched over to a Fusion, from a standard gillette excel and its brilliant...
If it wasn't for the freebies board I wouldn't have bought one, but now I have I won't stop.

Blades are expensive 7.99 for 4 but I just used a £5 Morrisons voucher and got a pack for 2.99.

Go on, give it a go....:D
  • I got a feebie fusion razor and i have to say its no better than my standard quattro or mach 3 (not turbo), think all the hype is whats selling them, once my freebie blades have gone i will go back to my old ones

is it me - or do the gilette blades run out faster these days.

2 years ago it would last 2 - 3 weeks.

Depends on how often it is used :p

I don't think they get blunt, but the lubricating strip runs out quicker...

I use a new blade every 7/10 days, and I can tell the difference.
