Froggy - maybe you can be a restaurant reviewer with your growing crowd of people following your recommendations - more stable than your failed flower arranging business which is attracting no interest? :rotfl:

Am still working on my flower arrangement skills, business is blooming! :p
Would love to be a critic but it would require a lot of training, and am not sure my waistline would love the nice food on such a frequent basis..
Am more than happy to recommend places I have been to before if that helps..

Ps: "saw" your Mum yesterday on this forum!!:rotfl:

Yeah, is introducing your family to Martin's MSE "family" going too far? I thought it was lovely that Billy's thread sparked memories for her - but I'm thankful she chose not to share any "interesting" kilt stories :o:D I was also really made up that Gally realised she was the one who had been in hospital so much.

I'm trying to help my mum learn to be a moneysaver - she has had some successes like cancelling her paid for bank account package, stopping her AA membership of over £15  a month in favour of a cashback deal from a cheaper provider, learning about insurance comparisons instead of just renewing each year - frightening really how some people are so taken advantage of, because they don't know to do these things. She has even learnt about TCB and quidco for her ebay habit :rotfl:

Yous should get another STAR just for that.. I keep trying to "encourage" people to look at MSE and save moeny where they can, but they point blank look at me as if I had gone mental.. OH & I have saved thousands over the last few years thanks to MSE :T I just cringe when I see work colleagues renewing car insurance at £1200 a pop without batting an eyelid when I probably could get it for half that price or less in under 5 minutes..
Am so glad your Mum is better, it can be felt in the way you write on MSE, now you can concentrate a bit more on yourself..

    Evening everybody :j

Well the weekend is almost over.. :o
Had a good all around weekend.. House got a thorough clean, and weather was nice so spent a fair bit of time outside... Managed to mow the lawn this morning and a quick tidy up outside and in the shed..
Baked a couple of cakes this afternoon, and offered some of it to one of our neighbour..I will take the rest to work tomorrow..
OH is off north of the border once again and will be back next Thursday..We will save loads on petrol (she is getting a lift) and food (as all meals are provided)..
MFW wise, OH is getting paid on Thursday, so will get her money to make the next OP..

Now just chilling on the sofa with OH & Elvis, watching Back to the Future...

    Cheers

    Evening Froggy,

A veritable classic. Back to the future was the first video I ever bought and it stands the test of time well. You've had a much more productive weekend than us. Other than an hour of badminton and some family visiting yesterday, having a general tidy, emptying all the bins in the house, watching the mighty Scots get pumped by some diddy footballing nation and tidying up the PC an iTunes, we've managed to do not a whole lot. The plan was to sort out the office and the spare room but there's always next weekend...

I feel your frustration with getting everyone on board with the MSE way of things. Even if people want to blow their money which is obviously their prerogative, there's no excuse for doing the simple things like switching everything in life where there's a decent financial incentive to do so, using quidco / topcashback for all the necessary insurances and such and renegotiating with companies like Sky every few months to get their latest and greatest deals. I think a lot of people expect anyone who professes to be an MSE follower to be scraping by on tesco value bread and beans, filling up the tank with a decent amount of vegetable oil, using a (PAYG) Nokia 3210 only in emergencies, switching off anything electrical as soon as it's been finished with and eschewing TV and DVDs for sitting singing kumbaya in a family circle (necessary due to there being no excuse for central heating when you can just huddle a bit tighter). I've caught myself a few times making the distinction between DFWs and MFWs when people are cutting SOAs to the barest minimum possible.

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Guten abend Billy :j

I caught a couple of minutes of the scottish game.. Watched England yesterday and was not impressed at all..The frogs managed to beat Luxembourg, just ...
We always have the project to tidy the office, but never managed to do it fully though.. I might tackle it this week, as OH is up your way..
Have got a meeting with my boss in the morning to setup my objectives (which I am not allowed a say in it ) for 2011 (about time too, its only April next week ).. Well not looking forward to that, but will just give him my best commercial smile, and the faster it goes, the better..

Hope you can get something from PC world in the morning?

    Cheers
