landlord and pre payment meter

can you just tell the electric company that you have landlords permission for a pre payment meter if there is nothing in the contract about it or do you need written consent? thanks sorry if ive asked this before x

    I never got permission I just did it

    When i gave the keys back the landlord said - well at least there is no messy debt to sort out

    thanks we told a fib and said landlord had said no because we didnt really want one but they said that the debt would then go over 6 months max and be far too much to pay by dd each month so i said i'd have another word lol i'll just phone them and say its ok then.

    yes just ring them back and say the landlord agreed

    thing is if the company wants to put pre paid meters in they will even without premission because they would just change it back when you leave

    welli phoned them back to agree to meterbut spoke to someone else who said we could have a dd to pay back debt over a year then said the monthy usage of where we are living now has been £25 a month!! that will soon change lol but the dd wont start until 1st september so hopefully br will be sorted then and the debt will i assume be taken off the dd amount. at least we wont have to have a meter now x

    That's good, as the tariff is higher on a meter so it's best to try and do it without if you can to get the outgoings down.x
