I've just made enough Shepherds Pie to feed 8 and was feeling all smug and pleased with myself before realising there isn't room in the freezer for any of it!

Anyone want to come to tea? :o

Thank goodness! I thought I was the only one who did things like that! :D I'm good at coming home from shopping with a load of meat i want to freeze, then realising like you that there's not enough room in the freezer.
  • Yes please!!! :D That's a pain isn't it, anywhere else you can store it?

Got any neighbours who live on their own you could "donate" it to as your good deed for the day?

  • At least you are trying to get it right! It will keep a couple of days in the fridge while you sort yourself out.

How about instead of a cake for your neighbours in one of the other threads you take round your shepherds pie!!!! lol

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've just left a message on my little sisters phone (she only moved out of my parents into her first flat a few weeks ago) to say there's a free dinner here if she feels like the 40 min drive after work. Me and hubby will eat the 2 person one later, the kids will have a portion between them for their dinner tomorrow (tonights is already in the fridge from last night) so thats half of it accounted for. I think I can just about squeeze one in the freezer if I have a jiggle round so still 3 trays left. :o

The only neighbours of mine that I know are scary, took my life in my hands going round for a parcel postie left with them once so no go on there. Hubby's got a single friend who doesn't own a cooker (or a sofa mind you, his flat is almost empty other than a wide screen telly lol!) who will probably eat one and then I guess the last couple will have to fit in the fridge. Just feel a bit silly for not thinking about space first, must get a chest freezer to go in the brick shed! *toddles of look on freecycle again*

ETA: Oooh lynzpower that's a good idea, will have a think about what I can take out.
