Any idea what products that salons use are not tested on animals?
I'm looking for a hairdresser in the area and thought I'd try and choose one based on this!

I doubt you'll find one.
Most 'professional' haircare products I've ever come across are made up of animal ingredients and chemicals and will be tested on animals somewhere along the line.
Hope you can prove me wrong and do manage to find one though..ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -
Have you tried Aveda? They're environmentally friendly and they do have salons in the country. Their products are slightly more expensive but you don't need to use much at any one time and they're great for people with allergies, etc. Just checked their website and they don't test at all on animals.0

I think daniel field is , I know they use organic colouring and organic products. However they are expensive !
Here is their web site - www.danielfield.com0 -
Also try some research using The Good Salon Guide, to see if they have any info or links available.

I suppose if you found a hairdresser that you liked you could ask them if they would mind you bringing in you own shampoo, etc.0

Paul Mitchell products aren't tested on animals...else I'd not have used them for 20 years! A large number of salons use and sell their products too so you probably won't have to go far to find this stuff! And it's ace! (addict of the SuperSkinny range!)0

Oh forgot as well MOP products are organic too , not so many hairdressers use them but might point you in the right direction.0

The Compassionate Shopping Guide mentions the Fish Hairdressing Salons (Soho and Maidstone http://www.fishweb.co.uk/) and Daniel Field(Hertfordshire http://ukhairproducts.com/index.html address at bottom of screen), and approves products from both. (Daniel Field does hair dyes as well)
BiOrganics have a salon range (http://www.biorganics.co.uk/)0 -

Agree I've heard of people doing this as well, its also done for allergies, when someone finds a product that suits them.0
