Hi there
Could anyone possibly help?
I am just wondering if having short term (3 or 6 months) contracts from your employer will be a barrier for me for getting a mortgage. My partner and i are hoping to jointly buy a house. I have applied for a job which is a short term contract. My partner is on a permanent employment contract. We both have places of our own to sell and neither of us have ever defaulted on mortgage payments or too my knowledge have bad credit ratings. Ive never had problems borrowing money in the past or had trouble paying it back. Neither of us have ever been unemployed.
Trouble is i really like the look of this job but don't want to take it if it is going to jeapodise my chances of buying a house!!!
Cheers

some lenders hate them, others will take a more commonsense approach, taking into account other incomes, deposit, history, type of work, if contract renewed in past etc..
Existing lenders in particular are likely a good place to startAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0
