Default listing after F&F Payment

I defaulted on my RBS card last year. Equifax credit report lists the date as July 2009, and Experian as August 2009.
RBS passed my outstanding debt on to AIC, and at the end of May this year I made a full and final payment of £6000, on the debt of £10,000.
I checked my credit reports on Experian and Equifax today, and they show that the RBS account is in default, that I made a payment of £6000. Experian shows the "current balance" as £4000, and Equifax show the "default/deliquent balance" as £4000 too.
Is that correct? I thought a full and final payment wiped off the debt, and didn't leave a "balance".

Self-update: I phoned the CCCS, who informed me that the account should be listed as Settled. They said to contact AIC to forward the details on to RBS, and to contact RBS for them to update the credit records.
I decided to call RBS first, who said that the details were on my account, and they would update their records.
Problem, hopefully, sorted.

Hope it gets sorted for you.
If it still doesn't then I would write to RBS to ask them to correct it (including a copy of your F&F letter from AIC) and send it recorded to them.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
