:)When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :)

    Hey everybody

Here are my DFW tasks/feats/accomplishments of the day:
    · Post make-up sold on e bay to nice prompt payer :)
    · Bit of voluntary work - good for experience and CPD and I feel helpful :D
    · Got 5 games cheap - can sell on for more ;)
    · Brought my lunch to work (feel like I haven't done that for a while!)
    · Enjoyed free cuppa :)
    · Clear out 2 'cubes' at home - have a unit made up of 20 cubes/shelves/baskets and it gets really messy
    · Might start my latest knitting project with loads of wool I found in the first cube ^ I cleared out

Catch up with you lot later!

Ooh quiet today! (has the other thread been deleted now or is the other thread busy...will go check now...)

Hello everyone , I'm not around much at the moment due to family crisis:( But i'm trying to be as careful as possible moneywise.

Today I have renewed my home insurance just before it expired. Last year I paid £432  , their quote for this year was £684  despite no claims !!!!!

Ive just paid £218 for same level (if not better) am very pleased with this :D:D

Other than that not much but always keeping an eye out for the best deals - car insurance up for renewal soon and quotes so far show I will save a lot though will need to add in my brother so he can drive my car in emergencies.

Keep well and keep up the good work :T

    Hi everyone! :hello:

I am not sure which thread to post on, so I’ll just post on both :rotfl: I think I have been quite DFW today…despite it being another rather crazy day at work! Am up to date on my work now, so I feel I can have a few minutes to post on here! (She said, convincing herself!)

Okaaaaay, so, on my list today:
    • [STRIKE]Cycle to work[/STRIKE]
    • Cycle home from work
    • [STRIKE]Drink free tea at work[/STRIKE] :D
    • [STRIKE]Charge phone at work if needed[/STRIKE] Not needed
    • [STRIKE]Call bank and get password sorted (I forgot it – ooops!)[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Transfer money to joint account[/STRIKE]
    • Email Mummy
    • [STRIKE]Bring lunch in from home [/STRIKE](it was YUM – homemade KFC)
    • [STRIKE]Renew library books[/STRIKE]
    • Read Martin’s email

That’s all I can think of so far….looks like quite a short list – hopefully that means I’ll achieve stuff!

Savingforarainyday – what is a courgette cake? :o

    Chat later!
