Liverpool - help

Hi all - I am going to Liverpool for the first time tomorrow. And to be honest I am pretty worried!!

I am going to be getting into the Liverpool Lime Street station. Can anybody please tell me... in very basic direction... how to find the Liverpool one centre?

I have been told so many different things - even one person telling me to get a second train!

Would also be helpful - As I am assuming I will be coming out of a certain exit to go BACK to the train station, to tell me what shops are near the exit.

I really hope SOMEBODY can help! Cos otherwise im going to be a very lost Midlands girl in a strange city! :)

If you come out of the main, huge front exit of Lime street.........

You'll go down some steps to a huge road, 4/5 lanes but with pedestrian crossings.

Cross over in a straight line. There is a chinese restaurant up above on your right so you know you're in the right direction. With the Chinese restaurant on your right, walk down the road direcly opposite the station.

You'll come to some very steep steps, go down these.
Boots will be on your left and a big tv screen in front of you. Keep going straight to the end of this part, Schu(sp) will be on your Right when you get to the end.

Turn right, Primark should be on your left, then Topshop, Next, Smiths. Keep walking straight until you get to a McDonalds on a corner on your left. Turn left and you're in Liverpool One.

It'll only take you 10 minutes.

    Good luck. :D

3onitsway - sounds pretty simple. I am going to write that out later lol :)
    Thanks.
Oh also Ive looked at a map and it seems Liverpool James street is literally over the road, do you think its worth getting a ticket to there? Would it make it much easier or me?

Tbh, by the time you've got from lime street main line down to Wirral line, got the train etc, you could have already got there on foot!

It's really easy to find, and if you get lost, the locals are really helpful and friendly. X

Nice to know the locals are friendly too, i've been some places and the locals would rather see you lost than be helpful lol.

I've only been there once or twice and I just remember you come out of lime street, with the grand St George's Hall opposite, cross over and veer left-ish to get to where the shops begin.

or if you go oout the Skelhorne st side of the station, where the taxi rank is, turn right.

You will see a huge tv screen, go past that and turn right onto Church Street where Primark etc is and Liverpool One starts at McDonalds.

That is the most straightforward way of getting there :)

    Have a good time!

Whoops just noticed the date and if you haven't found it by now, call the rescue services lol
just passing through.... Nothing to see....
