    Hi

I would liek to try to get the banding changed and a rebate on the moneywe have paid before as we think we may be in the wrong band. I think mine is simple as I pay my council tax and I own my own house.

She lives in private house and rents which is apid by some sort of benefit, can she reclaim as i awlays do hers whehnevr I claim anything myself

    thanks
    for your help

If the challenge were successful I doubt very much that any refund would be paid to your sister if she is in receipt of council tax benefit.

If she does not pay council tax, what does she expect a rebate on?

Why do you think you are in the wrong band?

If the band drops then the Council Tax Benefit that was overpaid would be recovered first before any refund is considered.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.
